Economical...yes. Cheap...no. Our SILVER filter features the benefits of our more expensive filters. They are permanent, washable and electrostatic. We have sold this filter to hundreds of thousands of happy customers. It is one of the most popular electrostatic filters on the market today. Our SILVER filters are made from a single piece of roll-formed galvanized steel fastened together at one corner with a single rivet. They feature the same lifetime warranty as our most expensive filters. How do you install it? Simply take out your old disposable filter and drop this one in it's place...you're done. How do you clean it? I vacuum mine off every 30-45 days and wash it with a hose or with the shower head every 3 months or so. You can also blow it out with an air compressor. Due to it's super low air resistance, we especially recommend the SILVER filter for replacing small to medium sized filters (16x25x1 or smaller). For large filters, you might try our higher arrestance filters for even more airborne dust removal.

Some early permanent filters were very restrictive and gave the product a bad reputation in some cases. Some HVAC contractors still tell their customers that all permanent filters are bad.
However, not all permanent filters are created equal. Like any type of filter, there is a balance between dust arrestance and air resistance. Our filters have very low air resistance.
Even our most restrictive filters are no more so than a good pleated disposable filter.
With proper maintenance, you can expect your permanent filter to last at least as long as your HVAC unit. Some of our customers have been using their filters for over 15 years and counting.
No. All of our filters are electrostatic. They have special polypropylene media layers that build a natural static charge as air passes through the filter. The charge is broken and the dust is released when the filter is cleaned.
