Description

This is a filter that we wish more people knew about.  It can be used as a prefilter in many applications, such as electronic air cleaners.  It also fits inside the slots above the coils on a mobile home HVAC unit.  The filters that generally come with mobile home units are made from aluminum mesh.  Those are good for catching small animals but if you want to trap dust and allergens, you need an upgraded electrostatic filter made from washable polypropylene.  This filter will improve your indoor air quality and also protect the coils on your ac unit much better.  It is made in the U.S.

Are you looking to replace those flimsy, fragile aluminum mesh filters that came with your Mobile Home Furnace or Electronic Air Cleaner (EAC)?  Have they become hopelessly clogged with dust?  Or maybe they just fell apart.  Well, we have the solution.  Upgrade to our permanent, washable pre-filters.  The best part is they are electrostatic and made from polypropylene instead of aluminum mesh (or mush).  All of our filters are 1/4 inch thick and available in custom sizes.  They are made to slide into the groove in front of the metal plates on your EAC or to go over the A-Coil on your mobile home furnace (see pictures).

Independent testing shows that using a higher efficiency, washable, electrostatic pre-filter will significantly enhance the working efficiency of your Electronic Air Cleaner without affecting the air flow requirements. In addition, your air cleaner is able to perform more effectively for longer periods before needing cleaning.

Consider adding a set of 4 activated carbon after-filters to your order. These after-filters will be made the same size as your pre-filter order.  They are not washable and should be changed every 4-6 months when the carbon reaches it's odor trapping saturation point. The after-filters come in 4 packs. Each 4 pack should last 18-24 months.  These filters are effective at removing airborne odors and capturing ash "brush-off" from the EAC plates or furnace coil.

Yes. You can find the MERV ratings for each filter in the Product Description section on the product page. You can also find the MERV rating in the comparison chart on the COMPARE FILTERS page.

Some early permanent filters were very restrictive and gave the product a bad reputation in some cases. Some HVAC contractors still tell their customers that all permanent filters are bad. However, not all permanent filters are created equal. Like any type of filter, there is a balance between dust arrestance and air resistance. Our filters have very low air resistance. Even our most restrictive filters are no more so than a good pleated disposable filter.

No electricity is required. All of our filters are electrostatic. They have special polypropylene media layers that build a natural static charge as air passes through the filter. The charge is broken and the dust is released when the filter is cleaned.

Please check out our COMPARE FILTERS chart. In addition, feel free to CONTACT US. We can help you choose the filters that's best in your application. We try to reply in 1 hour or less.

With proper maintenance, you can expect your permanent filter to last at least as long as your HVAC unit. Some of our customers have been using their filters for over 15 years and counting.

Cleaning is simple and easy. We recommend vacuuming the dust off the filter every month and then backwashing with water every 2-3 months. We also offer an ELECTROSTIC FILTER CLEANER to clean the filter more thoroughly.

While permanent filters have a higher upfront cost, they save money over time. Most customers recoup their investment within 1 year.

Yes! By switching to permanent filters, you eliminate the need for disposable filters that end up in landfills. Our filters are made from sustainable materials and can be used for years, making them an eco-friendly choice for your home.
